BLACKWOOD will hope that their home Swalec Cup encounter with Championship rivals Llanharan can spark their league campaign back into life.
Matthew Veater’s men have endured a tricky time since enjoying a super October with six defeats on the spin seeing them slip back towards the relegation battle.
Last week they were thumped 86-0 by RGC 1404 in north Wales and they have tricky fixtures with the leading pair of Swansea and Bargoed on the horizon.
A Swalec Cup success against Llanharan, who are propping up the Championship with just one win, would provide a timely boost.
Blackwood triumphed 35-29 when the sides met at Glan-yr-Afon Park in the league in October with their tries coming from Chris Stevens, Josh Hayward and Justin Jones.
