TALENTED teenage footballers could get the chance to impress Newport County AFC coaches next week.
Newport County in the Community is holding an open trial session for players wishing to take part in the BTEC Sport course run in conjunction with Llanwern High School.
The trial will be held on the evening of Wednesday, May 27, on the 3G playing surface at Llanwern High School and is open to boys who are currently in year 11 at school and set to leave at the end of the term.
Interested players are requested to email community@newport-county.co.uk in advance of the trial match to secure their place.
Players who successfully gain a place on the course will train in a professional football environment, as well as study for a BTEC qualification that gives students a pathway to university and a wide range of sport-related careers.
