NEWPORT RFC'S pre-season friendly against Abercarn this evening has been moved to Llanwern High School.
The warm-up clash (kick-off 7pm) has been shifted to protect the Rodney Parade pitch after a day of heavy rain.
The surface is playable but the decision has been made to move the friendly so that no early damage is done to a field that is home to three teams - the Black and Ambers, Newport Gwent Dragons and Newport County.
The Dragons, who used their training base in Ystrad Mynach for their friendly with Nottingham last weekend, host the Scarlets in a warm-up on Friday evening before the Exiles welcome Leyton Orient to the city in League Two on Saturday afternoon.
