ALFRETON Town manager Nicky Law says his side have a “great opportunity” of another FA Cup upset against Newport County AFC next month.
The National League North side beat Gateshead 3-2 after extra-time in last night’s replay to secure a home tie against the Exiles in the first round on the weekend of November 5.
And, after beating Neil Aspin’s National League outfit, Law fancies his side’s chances against County – who are currently five points adrift at the bottom of the English Football League.
Law told BBC Radio Derby: "We are looking forward to Newport coming to our place and I said to Neil (Aspin) before tonight's game that I would fancy either ourselves or Gateshead to have a good chance in that first round game, and that is absolutely no disrespect to Newport County at all.
"It is at home and our players have a great opportunity in front of them, if they can take it then anything can happen.
“It’s going to be the unknown for Newport. They’re not having a great time and we’ve got to make sure that we give a good account of ourselves.
“We don’t want it to end now, we’ve got to kick on.”
