A QUINTET of Newport Gwent Dragons players have been selected for Wales Under-18s’ annual tour to South Africa.
Back row forward Lennon Greggains, front rowers Will Griffiths and Josh Reynolds, centre Tom Hoppe and wing James McCarthy have made the 25-strong squad.
They will go up against South Africa and South Africa A as well as one of France, Italy or England in Cape Town in August.
“One of our main objectives is to further expose our players to high-level opposition in one of the hotbeds of world rugby,” said Gethin Watts, WRU national performance manager. “Selection has partly been based on succession planning for next year’s Wales U20 Six Nations squad, but our main objective is always long-term player development.”
