ASHLEY Brace’s European bantamweight title fight with Melania Sorroche was declared a draw after the Spaniard had been announced as champion.
Ebbw Vale ace Brace broke down in tears in the ring when Sorroche was revealed to be the winner via a split decision.
The Catalan got the verdict on two of the three scorecards (96-94, 96-95), with St Joseph’s star Brace taking the third 97-93.
However, it later emerged that the officials had made a mistake when adding up the scores for each round on one of the scorecards.
It means that a rematch for the vacant is now likely to take place next year.
Speaking after the bout, Brace thought she did enough to take the belt and admitted to feeling a mixture of emotions after the massive blunder by the officials.
