NEWPORT Gwent Dragons coach Paul Turner is set to make another string of changes for Friday night's Magners League game against Munster at Rodney Parade.

He made five against Connacht last week, but they still didn't do the trick as the Dragons fell to a 22-7 defeat in Galway.

Turner was deeply dismayed by the performance and, if he didn't know before, is now well aware he faces an uphill task this season with quality lacking in some positions.

One or two experienced players are not performing, so more youngsters could be blooded in the coming weeks.

Prop Huw Gustafson is set to be one after impressing since joining from Llanelli Scarlets over the summer.

He played in the same Wales Under 19 side which won the Grand Slam two years ago as fellow Dragons prop Jamie Corsi, whose start this season is delayed because of the after-effects of a back injury which prevented him from playing on Wales' tour to Australia in the summer.

Another former Under-19 cap who is impressing Turner is back five forward Dan Lydiate, from a farming family in mid-Wales, and a promising replacement in league games already this season.

The captaincy has also been a problem this season and won't be resolved until World Cup players Kevin Morgan, Michael Owen and Colin Charvis return, though Turner has yet to decide on his captain for the season.

So far duties have been shared between locks Luke Charteris and Andrew Hall, but neither has been able to nail down the job.

There has been the odd bonus though, notably the performance of centre Rhodri Davies against Connacht on his debut after joining from Northampton and suffering groin trouble.
