WALES wing/full-back Hallam Amos is set to make his Dragons return against Connacht in Galway on Saturday – but lock Matthew Screech will miss the Guinness PRO14 clash.

Amos has been out of action since suffering a dislocated elbow in the loss to Leinster at the Royal Dublin Society in September.

The 24-year-old missed out on selection for the Wales autumn squad but spent last week with the national conditioning team, who have given him the green light to return in Galway.

Amos will provide some added firepower to the three-quarters - Jordan Williams, Will Talbot-Davies and Dafydd Howells combined in the back three last week - but the Dragons have suffered a blow up front with the loss of lock Screech.

He suffered an ankle strain in the 36-18 loss to Ulster at Kingspan Stadium last Friday and will not return to Ireland this weekend.

Screech partnered Lewis Evans, who has recently moved to the second row from the back row, with Joe Davies coming off the bench in the first half.

Davies is likely to earn the start in Connacht and there could be a return for Rynard Landman given that captain Cory Hill is on Wales duty and Brandon Nansen is sidelined with a concussion suffered against Cardiff Blues at the start of the month.

The Dragons are still without wing Ashton Hewitt, who travelled to Belfast and is close to a return from the shoulder injury he suffered in Wales training ahead of the summer tour.

They also travel to Galway without flanker Ollie Griffiths (hip), wing Jared Rosser (hamstring) and fly-halves Gavin Henson (knee) and Arwel Robson (ankle).

Back row forward James Sheekey is targeting a return before December after undergoing a successful wrist operation.
