LAUREN Price comfortably dispatched Ireland’s Aoife O’Rourke on points to secure a quarter-final berth at the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in India this morning.

Pontypool ABC’s Commonwealth Games champion was given the verdict by all five ringside judges in New Delhi, her win coming after she received a bye in the first round.

Middleweight Price faces Elzbieta Wojcik tomorrow for a place in the 75kg semi-finals after the polish boxer beat Sujin Seon of South Korea.

Price, of Ystrad Mynach, who won European bronze earlier this year, is also looking to make up for the disappointment of Pontypool and GB Boxing stablemate Rosie Eccles.

The welterweight from Caerleon, a silver medallist at the Commonwealths in April, lost her opening bout on Friday.
