NEWPORT County AFC midfielder Matty Dolan has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month award for October for his stunning strike against Stevenage.
Dolan opened the scoring with a first-minute screamer in County’s 2-1 victory at Rodney Parade on October 13.
The goal is described in the Sky Bet citation: “Off balance as he won the ball in midfield, Dolan took the return from Tyreeq Bakinson and righted himself just in time to pummel home a first-minute, thigh-high dipper from 25 yards.”

The winner will be chosen by a fan poll online at skysports.com. Voting is open from 6am today and closes on Monday with the result announced on November 30.
The shortlist for the poll is decided by a judging panel following suggestions from supporters via Twitter. The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; Sky Bet sponsorship manager Michael Holinski and EFL senior media manager Rob Meaden.
