NEWPORT County AFC manager Michael Flynn is again being linked with a move away from Rodney Parade but he says there has been no contact from Bristol Rovers.

The League One strugglers parted company with Darrell Clarke on yesterday and former Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill is the current bookmakers’ favourite to succeed him.

But Flynn, who was odds-on for the Shrewsbury Town job last month, is currently second in the betting.

“I was 1/8 on at Shrewsbury and I didn’t get the job,” said the Exiles boss. “It’s just paper talk again and it means nothing.

“I definitely haven’t had any contact, my agent hasn’t and the club hasn’t.

“I’m sure the club would be the first to find out if there was any interest.

"There’s nothing else to say.”

County host League Two leaders MK Dons at Rodney Parade tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

And Flynn has talked this week about his plans to strengthen the Exiles squad in January.
