WING Jared Rosser has committed his long-term future to the Dragons after the region agreed a contract extension with the promising prospect a year early.
The 21-year-old from Abersychan has signed fresh terms with the Rodney Parade region with his new deal running until 2022.
Rosser made his Dragons debut on the opening day of last season and has been a regular ever since, crossing for 13 tries in 39 appearances.
The speedster became the fifth player to score a hat-trick for the region against Zebre last year and went over for a stunning try in December's win against the Ospreys in Newport, helping to end a four-year derby drought.
The Wales sevens international had another season left to run on his old deal but his exploits led to the Dragons moving to agree fresh terms on a longer contract.
"It was a big goal of mine to secure a new contract, so to get it sorted is fantastic and I'm excited about the future we can all have here," said Rosser, whose younger brother Ewan is with the Dragons Under-18s.
"This is my home region, I've come through the age-grade system and I'm determined to not only improve as a player but also help Dragons move forward.
"Now is the time for me to really kick on and become a senior member of the squad here."
Rosser scored seven tries in the final seven games of 2017/18, including his hat-trick in Italy, only to be hindered by a hamstring problem at the start of the current campaign.
He fought his way back into the side with a stunning five-try performance for the A team against Connacht Eagles in the Celtic Cup.
With Hallam Amos heading to Cardiff Blues, the Dragons will be looking for Rosser to push on and become a leading figure on the flank.
"Jared has had a really positive season and shown the rich promise that we all know he has," said caretaker head coach Ceri Jones, who also secured the services of influential wing Ashton Hewitt earlier this month.
"He has had some real standout games, such as the Ospreys derby match at Rodney Parade, and is definitely one for the future who can really kick on now his future is finalised.
"Jared is a Gwent boy, proud to be part of this region, he has come through our academy system and continues to improve year on year.
"We're all excited to see how he develops over the next three years and thrilled that Jared will be a key figure as we look to push our region forward."
