The operating cost for a Newport RFC fixture is just over £3,000– that includes groundstaff and pitch preparation, stewarding, kitchen staff and players’ food, utilities and matchday planning.
The sums are higher for Dragons and Newport County games due to higher crowds while the Football Association of Wales pay a bigger fee for use of the ground.
