NEWPORT County fans will be able to get their hands on the shirts worn in their dramatic Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Newcastle United.

The Exiles made history by qualifying for the fourth round of the competition for the first time in the club’s history, beating Championship sides Swansea and Watford along the way.

Michael Flynn’s team fell to an agonising penalty shootout defeat to the Magpies, having led for most of the game.

And now, Exiles fans will have the chance to bid for one of the players’ shirts worn in the fourth round tie, while raising funds for a good cause.

Half of the profits raised from the shirts will be donated to Alzheimer’s Society Cymru.

The remaining 50 per cent will be split equally between the two other charities who were part of the club’s #SaveOurShirtContinues crowdfunder - anti-bullying charity Kidscape and JDRF: The type 1 diabetes charity.

To place a bid on one of the shirts, supporters must e-mail with a minimum bid of £100 and put the subject of the e-mail as ’NEWCASTLE UNITED PLAYER SHIRT AUCTION – [PLAYER NAME]’.

To help with the announcement of the winners, bidders have been asked by the club to provide their Twitter handle in the body of the email along with the bid in the value of GBP.

Bidding opened at 8am on Thursday, and must be made before 3pm on Saturday, October 10.

You will be able to bid on the following players’ shirts: Nick Townsend, Tom King, Ryan Haynes, Bradley Webb, Brandon Cooper, Ashley Baker, Robbie Willmott, Scot Bennett, Ryan Taylor, Saikou Janneh.
