NEWPORT County AFC will face Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion in the third round of the FA Cup.

Michael Flynn's men will aim for another famous victory over higher-league opposition, following famous wins in the competition in recent seasons.

The match will be played at Rodney Parade.

The third-round ties will be played over the weekend of January 8-11.

Brighton currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, picking up 10 points from the first 10 games.

Graham Potter's side scored a late, late equaliser against heavyweights Liverpool on Saturday, and are unbeaten in their last three league matches.

The Seagulls were eliminated in the third-round of last year's competition, losing 1-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

County fans' nerves were put to the test in tonight's draw -- the Exiles were one of the last teams to be drawn from the pot.
