SCRUM-HALF Rhodri Williams – fresh from his Wales recall – returns to captain the Dragons as they face Leinster in the Guinness PRO14 Rainbow Cup at Dublin’s RDS Arena on Saturday night (kick-off 8.15pm).

Fit-again Williams, one of eight Dragons in Wayne Pivac’s squad for Wales’s summer Tests, replaces Gonzalo Bertranou, who started the 27-16 defeat by Glasgow a fortnight ago.

Also returning to the starting XV for the Welsh region’s final game of the season is experienced centre Jamie Roberts, as Dean Ryan makes eight changes in all.

In the front row, Wales internationals Elliot Dee and Aaron Jarvis pack down alongside prop Brok Harris, who will be making his last appearance for the Men of Gwent.

The 36-year-old South African has been a mainstay of the pack at Rodney Parade since arriving in November 2014.

However, this week it was announced he would be heading back to his homeland having not been offered a new deal by the Dragons.

Lock Joe Davies partners Ben Carter, another of those called into the Wales squad, in the second row, while back row Harrison Keddie returns at blindside.

In the backs, Josh Lewis takes the full-back jersey and Owen Jenkins is on the wing.

Changes on the bench include a return for lock Joe Maksymiw.

“It’s important how we finish the season and that’s reflected in the team we have selected,” said director of rugby Ryan.

“It’s about getting the right mix to our team so young players can have a positive experience surrounded by senior members of our squad.

“We’ve been pretty pleased with some of our performances in the competition, although we wanted better results.

“We have taken a huge amount from this part of the season and we want to finish in the right space to take that confidence and belief into next year.”
