DRAGONS-BOUND Angus O'Brien will start at full-back for the Scarlets at Rodney Parade tomorrow afternoon.

The 27-year-old from Caerleon replaces Wales international Liam Williams as one of seven changes to the XV that lost 38-27 in Llanelli last weekend.

O'Brien came off the bench to play fly-half on home soil but is named at 15 ahead of his unconfirmed return to the Dragons next season.

He made 70 appearances for the Rodney Parade region before heading to the Scarlets in 2018 but is poised to re-sign to back up fly-halves Sam Davies and JJ Hanrahan while being an extra option at 15.

Captain Jonathan Davies moves to outside centre with fellow Wales international Johnny Williams starting at 12.

Lions scrum-half Gareth Davies starts and Rhys Patchell is back after a hamstring injury to be his half-back partner.

The tight five is strengthened by the return of Wales hooker Ryan Elias and influential lock Sam Lousi, who had to withdraw shortly before kick-off in Llanelli because of a knee problem.

The final change is in the back row with Josh Macleod starting and Aaron Shingler drops down to the bench, where is joined by former Dragon Tyler Morgan.

Like O'Brien, the centre/wing has been linked in some media outlets with a return to Rodney Parade but that is highly unlikely.

Head coach Dwayne Peel said: "Rodney Parade is a tough place to go, but we are looking forward to it.

"There is a lot we can work on and we have trained hard this week. I am excited for the group that they get an opportunity again.

"Like I said last week, historically, results between the two sides have been close and I expect it to be the same again."
