FORMER Dragons centre Tyler Morgan is set to make his Wales Sevens debut in France after being released by the Scarlets.

The 26-year-old from Caerleon won five full caps and played against South Africa in the 2015 World Cup quarter-final at Twickenham.

Morgan, whose last Test outing was against Tonga in 2018, will now get a chance to return to international rugby in the shorter format in Toulouse.

It is a chance for the centre to catch the eye after being released by the Scarlets, with reports linking him with a return to the Dragons wide of the mark.

Morgan came off the bench at the death against his former region at Rodney Parade at the end of April and Wales boss Richie Pugh hopes to prosper from the back's big-game experience.

"Tyler's itching to play," he said. "When I invited him into the camp he jumped at the opportunity.

"It's just great having someone of his calibre and his experience and what he's achieved so far in his career.

"I think he may admit that it was a bit of a shock to the system coming in but two and a bit weeks now he's been in with us and he's been good and I think he's just looking forward to getting to Toulouse now."

Dragons winger Owen Jenkins, whose contract expires this summer, and academy speedster Ewan Rosser are included in the squad along with Pontypool's Lloyd Lewis.

Wales have a tough task against hosts France, Fiji and Kenya.
