Wales completed their European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign with a 2-0 victory over Gibraltar at Llanelli.

Joe Adams and Ollie Hammond rewarded a dominant home performance with a goal in each half.

It was an evening to remember for Luca Hoole with the defender from Gwent - who had a superb run-in to help Bristol Rovers to promotion from League Two - coming on for his Under-21s debut in the second half.

It took Wales only 30 seconds to take the lead as intricate play between Rhys Hughes and Fin Stevens on the right-hand side led to Dundalk winger Adams volleying in left-footed at the far post.

Hammond doubled Wales’ lead eight minutes after the interval.

The Nottingham Forest midfielder timed his run into the penalty area superbly to meet Adams’ cross.

Hoole almost set up the impressive Luke Jephcott for a third with a cross from the right but Wales had to be content with a 2-0 win.

They finished the campaign with three successes, two draws and five losses.

Wales: Lewis Webb, Fin Stevens (Luca Hoole 75), Owen Beck, Ryan Astley (captain), Sam Pearson (Patrick Jones 68), Eli King (Chris Popov 68), Luke Jephcott, Rhys Hughes, James Connolly, Oli Hammond (Thomas Sparrow 75), Joe Adams (Zachary Ashworth 81).
