MACWHIRTER Welsh League Division Two outfit Cwmbran Celtic have arranged to play their home Gwent Senior Cup semi final against Division Three side Aberbargoed Buds on Wednesday, April 2 at Cwmbran Stadium (kick off 7.15pm).
Celtic or the Buds will face the winner of the other last-four clash between Division One rivals Cwmbran Town and Caldicot Town, a game which has not yet been allocated a date - although it must be played before March 31.
All four clubs have won the competition previously, although Celtic were known as Cwmbran Catholics when they lifted the trophy in 1970-71.
Of the quartet, the Buds were next to win the competition with their triumph in 1978-79 before Caldicot got in on the act at the end of the following season.
The Buds won it for a second time in 1987-88 as did Caldicot in 1992-93 since when Cwmbran have been victorious on three occasions - 1994-95, 1995-96 and 2005-06.
Last season's winners Croesyceiliog, who defeated Cwmbran 2-1 in the final at Abergavenny Thursday's Penypound Stadium in May, were beaten 9-2 in the first round at Caldicot in September.

A Tredegar win will move them up two places to 10th of 18 while success for Llanwern will only maintain their seventh position.
