THE one that got away -that was how frustrated Newport Gwent Dragons coach Paul Turner described last night's disappointing draw against Edinburgh.

It was doubly frustrating in view of the Ospreys' defeat in Glasgow because a Dragons victory would have leap-frogged them over their rivals in the Magners League table.

The Dragons trailed 10-0 early on but hit back to narrow the deficit to three points at the interval - yet with victory seeming a formality with the elements at their back they failed to press home their territorial domination.

"It was the one that got away, but these situations have happened before and they will probably happen again," said Turner pointedly.

"We did enough to win, though after ten minutes if you'd have said we'd have got two points I would have taken it because we lacked direction.

"The forwards got us back in it and players like (Joe) Bearman and (Richard) Parks were outstanding.

"We had the territorial advantage in the second half but for the umpteenth time we lacked the composure to take the game.

"When we get into situations we have got to take the points. They came into our half only once in the second half, but we weren't capable of finishing the job.

"We did have four important players missing from the side that won up in Edinburgh -Adam Black, Rhys Thomas, Luke Charteris and Colin Charvis -but it still makes my job building this squad pretty clear.

"Good sides win these game, but we are a young side and it showed. It was two points lost."
