OMAR Bogle has vowed League Two strugglers Newport County AFC will head to pacesetters Leyton Orient without fear this weekend.

The Exiles ended a four-game losing streak against Carlisle on Saturday but had to settle for a share of the spoils after a 1-1 draw.

Orient, meanwhile, continued their remarkable start to the campaign with a 2-0 win at Barrow.

Richie Wellens' side have won nine and drawn one of their 10 league fixtures; the East Londoners and League One Portsmouth are the only unbeaten sides in the EFL.

Orient are top and putting them in a strong position for a promotion push while County are languishing in 18th, three points off bottom.

"We go into every game believing we can win. We don't fear anyone," said striker Bogle. "We know if we play our football we can get a result.

"They are doing well, so we know it's going to be a hard game and they will be confident, but we've got to stick to our game plan and do what we need to for a result.

"Look at the games that we have played and some of the football we have played at times, we know we're more than capable of competing with the top end of the table."

County led 1-0 at half-time against Carlisle but conceded with 15 minutes to go.

"The results haven't been great lately so it was good to stop the little rut that we were in, so hopefully we can build on this now," said top scorer Bogle.

"It's difficult when you are doing a lot of good but quite a few things haven't fallen for us in the last few games, while we've had a few lapses in concentration.

"There have been a lot of positives and it's frustrating when you are doing a lot of things right but the results aren't coming. We just have to keep on and the luck will come."

Bogle has scored six goals in all competitions but hasn't scored in five games, with an effort wrongly chalked off for offside against Forest Green last week.

"This run is annoying, I am fuming! I have to look forward to the next game and hopefully if I get a chance I will put it away," he said.

"That offside summed everything up but I've just got to keep going. Hopefully the chances will come and I'll put them away.

"There are one or two that I definitely should have scored, especially the chance at Stevenage.

"I am a bit annoyed, and I haven't had too many good opportunities recently, but it's been okay so far. I am always going to strive for more and I always want better."

The striker will be a key man if County are to climb to table and steer clear of trouble.

His experience is also vital to bring the best out of the squad's young players after loanees Thierry Nevers, Chanka Zimba, Nathan Moriah-Welsh, Hayden Lindley and Adam Lewis all featured against Carlisle.

"There is a good blend of youth and experience and we can help the younger players. A few of them are on their first loans and it's their first time playing men's football," said Bogle.

"We've got to help them and guide them, but they have taken to it well. They will listen and take things on board, you can see them improving every week."
