WILFRIED Bony was on target against for Newport County AFC’s development team in a 3-0 friendly win against Cardiff Met.
The former Swansea City and Manchester City striker scored the winner for the Exiles in their 2-1 success against Swindon at Spytty Park last month.
The 34-year-old, who has trained with the club on and off since the summer of 2019, was on target again in Cyncoed when providing some experience for a County side featuring plenty of youth and lots of trialists.
First teamers Lewis Collins and Sam Bowen started along with Lewys Twamley, who is back from a loan spell at Pontypridd in the Cymru Premier, and promising defenders Harrison Bright and Evan Cadwallader.
Bony struck after half an hour then goals in the second half followed from youngsters Noah Preston-Watkins and Kiban Rai.

The Ivory Coast international is unattached so wasn’t impacted by the transfer window and County manager Graham Coughlan said at the start of December that he wouldn’t close the door on bringing the former £28million man into the first team.
“Wilf would obviously have to work a bit harder on his fitness with the way I am and we are, with the mentality we have around the club,” said the boss.
“He would have to work on that if he wanted to join us, but I am not going to sit here and say the door is shut.
“You never say never in football and if Wilf was up for it and he wanted, we would certainly sit and talk to him. If he raised his fitness levels we could have that conversation, I am open to anything.”
