NEWPORT County AFC will make the long trip to Grimsby in midweek after their League Two clash was postponed because of the Mariners’ FA Cup exploits.
The Exiles were meant to head to Blundell Park on Saturday but Grimsby will instead take on Luton Town in the fourth round of the cup competition.
County will now travel to Lincolnshire on Tuesday, March 7 (kick-off 7.45pm), slotting the fixture in between an away game at Salford and home encounter with Bradford City.
At 474 miles it is their fourth-longest trip of the League Two campaign behind Barrow, Hartlepool and Carlisle.
Graham Coughlan’s side will also have rearranged fixtures to play against Hartlepool away and AFC Wimbledon at home because of postponements for frozen pitches.
County are next in action on Saturday, February 4 and will watch the results of their fellow strugglers with interest.
They are currently six points above the drop zone with Hartlepool and Colchester in action against Carlisle and Salford respectively this evening.
