NEWPORT County AFC will be on red alert for Sutton United dangerman David Ajiboye at Rodney Parade tomorrow afternoon.

The 24-year-old earned a move to Peterborough last summer thanks to his exploits for the U's in League Two last season, with County a victim of the rapid winger’s fast feet in both fixtures.

He scored a pair of wonderful solo goals in the first half of the game at Rodney Parade, and forced the half-time replacement of Ryan Haynes, before the Exiles stormed back to beat the 10-man visitors 3-2 thanks to goals by Lewis Collins, Courtney Baker-Richardson and Matty Dolan’s last-minute penalty.

Sutton got revenge in April to kill off County’s play-off hopes when Ajiboye was too fast for Scot Bennett in the box to win a penalty that Rob Milsom scored.

He moved to the Posh at the end of the season but featured just 10 times for the League One side, just one of them as a starter, before returning to Gander Green Lane in January.

Ajiboye has come back with a bang, scoring three goals and providing two assists in seven games.

Sutton have Craig Eastmond, who was sent off in the first half of last season’s game in Newport, back from a suspension for a red card.

Striker Omar Bugiel scored the opener in the 1-1 draw when the Exiles headed to London on the opening weekend of the season but he serves the second game of his two-match ban for receiving 10 yellow cards this season.
