CAMERON Norman was the big winner at Newport County AFC’s end of season awards as the Exiles wait to see if he will return to Rodney Parade.

The right-back, who has been offered fresh terms to consider ahead of his contract expiring this summer, was a key figure in the Exiles’ side for the second season on the spin after his arrival from Walsall.

Norman played in all 46 League Two games for a successive season and made 53 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals in the process.

His exploits earned the Patron’s Cup, chosen by supporters, and the Howard Herbert Trophy for player of the season while he was also recognised for making most appearances.

Norman, who made his 100th appearance for the club in the season finale against Crewe, is mulling over County’s offer.

However, his performances caught the eye of Scottish Premiership side St Mirren last summer and he is sure to have League One suitors and those with bigger pockets in League Two.

Central defender Priestley Farquharson, another who has been offered a new contract to consider, won away player of the season while midfielder Nathan Moriah-Welsh was young player of the season after making an impression on loan from Bournemouth.

Omar Bogle was recognised for being top scorer after hitting the net 19 times in total, 17 of them in League Two, and the striker also took the Ray Taylor fair play award, which goes to the individual who played in the best spirit.

Kiban Rai, who made his full debut in the final game of the season against Crewe, won the Rob Dare award for outstanding contribution in the academy.

Aaron Wildig won goal of the season for his strike against Doncaster while fitness coach David Pipe and assistant manager Joe Dunne won special recognition awards from their boss Graham Coughlan.
