NEWPORT County AFC’s bid for a place in the third round of the FA Cup at Barnet will be shown live on television - netting the club £30,000.

The Exiles suffered round-two frustration when the Bees equalised in the 89th minute to make it 1-1 at Rodney Parade last weekend.

That earned the National League promotion hopefuls a replay at the Hive on Tuesday (kick-off 7.45pm) and the fixture will be shown live on ITV4 and their streaming service ITVX.

Barnet versus County is on ITV and Stockport against Aldershot the following night is on BBC, with all four clubs receiving a £30,000 live broadcast fee.

The tie will be settled on the night with extra time and penalties if needed, with the winners pocketing £67,000 in prize money and a home fixture in the third round against Eastleigh.

The Hampshire side, 11th in the National League, stunned League One Reading 2-1 on Sunday to progress.

While the draw hasn’t provided a mouth-watering clash against a Premier League big gun for Eastleigh, County or Barnet, winners of third-round ties do receive £105,000.

The Bees are in knockout action again on Saturday when they take on Maidstone in the FA Trophy while the Exiles have a key League Two clash with struggling Tranmere.

The third round tie will be played on the weekend of January 6, meaning County's home league encounter with Accrington will be postponed if they win the replay.
