NEWPORT County AFC have extra motivation for their FA Cup replay after being drawn against Premier League giants Manchester United in round four.

The Exiles will travel to Eastleigh next Tuesday after they were pegged back by a late penalty in a 1-1 draw at Rodney Parade on Saturday.

The failure to beat 10 men will be even more galling if they lose to the National League side in Hampshire given that the winners earn a mouth-watering clash with the Red Devils, who beat Wigan Athletic on Monday night after the draw.

County have never faced the Old Trafford club, who manager Graham Coughlan supports, and it would be a huge occasion for the city and provide a massive cash boost.

The winners of third-round ties earn £105,000 and a clash with Erik ten Hag's side would lead to a sell-out crowd at Rodney Parade and the probability of live television coverage.

If County beat Eastleigh then they will host the Premier League big guns on the last weekend in January.

Lose and they travel to Harrogate in League Two on Friday, January 26.

United legend Roy Keane was unimpressed by his former side in Wigan, although he feels they've got lucky with a trip to either Newport or Eastleigh: “I haven’t seen it tonight and I haven’t seen it for the last few months.

“But again they have won the game and are in the next round, it is an easy draw again, but you need better from United.”
