THE Dragons will attempt to break their Cardiff City Stadium duck at the seventh time of asking on Saturday.
Dai Flanagan’s men head to the capital to play the Scarlets on neutral territory (kick-off 3pm) for their United Rugby Championship finale rather than facing them in Llanelli.
The Dragons were visitors four times when Cardiff had their ill-fated move from the Arms Park between 2009 and 2012.
They have also hosted Wasps and Glasgow at the home of the Bluebirds when the Rodney Parade pitch was frozen and then being relayed.
Here is a look back at the past clashes at Cardiff City Stadium…
CARDIFF: December 27, 2009 – 42-13 loss.
The Dragons were scenting an upset when leading 13-3 at the break thanks to Aled Brew's try, five points from the boot of James Arlidge and Jason Tovey's drop goal.
However, Cardiff scored 39 unanswered points after the break with tries by lock Bradley Davies, wing Richard Mustoe, scrum-half Richie Rees, centre Tom Shanklin and wing Tom James, with full-back Ben Blair kicking 14 points.
CARDIFF: August 27, 2010 – 19-3 loss.
A 19-3 loss in a friendly in front of 10,016 in a testimonial match for Martyn Williams.
Flanker Maama Molitika, centre Tom Shanklin and scrum-half Lloyd Williams went over for Cardiff while the Dragons had two players - full-back Matt Evans and prop Ali McKenzie - sin-binned.
CARDIFF: September 18, 2010 – 43-21 loss.
The Blue and Blacks won 43-21 in the Magners League thanks to tries by Leigh Halfpenny, a brace by hooker Rhys Thomas (who would go on to captain the Dragons) and Xavier Rush.
Wales winger Will Harries and Adam Hughes went over for the visitors.
WASPS: December 12, 2010 – 23-16 loss.
The fixture was moved to the capital because of a frozen pitch at Rodney Parade and the English side took the spoils 23-16.
It was a missed opportunity in front of a crowd of 3,432 with Paul Turner left to lament TMO decisions.
The Dragons led at the break thanks to the boot of Tovey and a try by centre Ashley Smith.
However, Wasps captain Ben Jacobs and wings David Lemi and Tom Varndell earned the spoils.
CARDIFF: December 23, 2011 – 28-9 loss.
Another convincing loss in the RaboDirect Pro12 before Christmas with wing Alex Cuthbert (2) and lock Bradley Davies crossing for the hosts.
Three Jason Tovey penalties was all that the Dragons could manage in a grim 28-9 defeat against a Cardiff side for who Gavin Henson made his debut.
GLASGOW: May 29, 2021 – 27-16 loss.
The Dragons had beaten the Warriors two times but failed to make it a hat-trick when beaten 27-16 in the Rainbow Cup behind closed doors.
Dean Ryan’s side led 13-3 thanks to centre Aneurin Owen's try and eight points kicked by fly-half Sam Davies.
Glasgow, with Rory Darge inspired, stormed back to win thanks to tries by Kyle Steyn, George Turner, Kiran McDonald and Ross Thompson.
To make matters worse, stalwart prop Lloyd Fairbrother ruptured an Achilles and would end up being sidelined for a year.
