NEWPORT County AFC will travel to Leyton Orient in round one of the Carabao Cup.
The Exiles will go up against the League One club on either Tuesday, August 13 or Wednesday, August 14.
County, who will have a new head coach at the helm after the departure of manager Graham Coughlan, have won their last two trips to Brisbane Road.
They took the spoils 1-0 in January 2022 thanks to a late Cameron Norman winner and then won 2-1 the following season, stunning a side that would go on to win promotion thanks to a Will Evans header and an Omar Bogle penalty.
The game will sit between County’s League Two opener at Cheltenham – which has been confirmed as Saturday, August 10 at 3pm – and the first home game against Doncaster the following weekend.
If the Exiles repeat their recent upsets of Swansea, Ipswich, Luton and Charlton then they will play round two is at the end of August between the home game against Accrington and trip to Morecambe.
County haven't lost in round one of the League Cup since the 2016 defeat to Milton Keynes Dons, who came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at the death in Newport.
