FORMER Newport County AFC midfielder Lee Evans is hunting another promotion after signing for League One Blackpool.
The 29-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Seasiders after helping Portsmouth win the third-tier title last season.
Evans headed to the south coast after being released from his contract at Ipswich, who were in the thick of their successful bid for the Premier League, to continue his recovery from a serious knee injury.
The Wales international also has promotions on his CV with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic and the Tractor Boys.
"It's an exciting challenge and [manager] Neil Critchley sold that challenge to me of trying to get out of this league,” said Evans.
“With the club just missing out on the play-offs last season it's had a chance to build and then kick on again this coming season which I am proud to be a part of."
Evans came through the ranks at County and, after making 25 appearances, earned a move to Wolves in 2013 before going on to play for Bradford, Wigan and Sheffield United.
He won the first of his four Wales caps against Panama in 2017.

Meanwhile, former Exiles youngster Jack Karadogan has earned a move to Sanliurfaspor in Turkey’s second tier.
The midfielder, who was called up by Wales Under-18s in the summer of 2022, never made a County senior appearance.
He was an unused substitute in a League Two win at Carlisle under James Rowberry and in the Carabao Cup loss to Premier League Leicester.
Karadogan moved on loan to Pontypridd United and then signed for the club permanently when released by County last summer.
Now the 20-year-old will try to make his mark in Turkey in the TFF First League.
