NEWPORT County AFC head coach Nelson Jardim is excited by his first Rodney Parade experience – with the Amber Army having a special new addition.
After games at Cheltenham and Leyton Orient, the Exiles play on home soil when they host much-fancied Doncaster Rovers in League Two tomorrow.
Jardim, who was appointed in July, will be in the Rodney Parade dugout for the first time and will have extra support.
The Portuguese coach’s family have stayed in Madeira while he has taken up the opportunity to be a boss in Wales, but they have flown over for a visit with his son Francisco set to be a mascot.
“It is a big day and I have heard about the support of the fans and I am looking forward to feeling that,” said the head coach, whose side were roared on by 1,000 fans at Cheltenham.
“It will be a very important day for me, I know the fans have been suffering and we couldn’t give them the win that I felt we deserved at Cheltenham.
“It’s a big day for me and my family – my son will be one of the mascots.”
Doncaster requested an extra batch of tickets after a first allocation of just over 400.
