THE Dragons have changed their offer for supporters to use Rodney’s Clubhouse after feedback about being charged for membership.
For the coming campaign the Rodney Parade club will open the bar in the corner between the Bisley Stand and the temporary seating that used by football fans, which was formerly a gym when the Dragons trained at Rodney Parade.
Membership has been introduced due to capacity issues and initially the Dragons were going to charge £30 for that.
However, feedback from supporters now means that fee remains but membership will come with £30 of drinks vouchers to use in 2024/25 season.
Members will get a pre or post-match Q&A session with a Dragons player, the vouchers, live music acts for selected fixtures and the ability to buy hot food.
Those that sit or stand on the Rodney Road side of the stadium will still be shepherded over by stewards – they need to pass the changing rooms area that is shut off to supporters – but there will now be more windows for that.
Dragons chief executive Rhys Blumberg said: “I would firstly like to thank every supporter who has personally reached out to me or club staff to give their opinion over the Rodney’s Clubhouse membership offering.
“With limited capacity, we wanted to introduce an exclusive area for our supporters to enjoy, while also benefitting from Q&A sessions with players, live music, and hot food available to purchase.
“I am also pleased to announce we will also be offering £30 worth of drinks vouchers to use in this bar area, meaning every member gets the cost of their membership back.
“We’ve also listened to feedback on moving to and from the Riverside Stand and Terrace to Rodney’s Clubhouse and will be offering windows of opportunity to make that journey.
“We’ve been really pleased by the number of memberships already purchased and would encourage those interested to act soon to avoid any disappointment.”
Membership starts from the United Rugby Championship derby opener against the Ospreys on Saturday, September 21.
Rodney’s Clubhouse will be open two hours before every home match via gate six for supporters aged 18 or over.
Membership can be bought online or by calling the ticket office team on 01633 676090.
