CROSS Keys suffered a 43-12 defeat in the final of the Premiership Cup final at Principality Stadium after being overpowered by Pontypridd in the second half.
The Pandy Park club were in the game when trailing 10-5 at the break, with their try scored by captain and number eight Corey Nicholls.
However, Ponty put their foot down in the second half to cruise to victory, although Keys did have the final say through a penalty try.
Wing Joe Davies (2), centre Stuart Floyd-Ellis, hooker Rob Jones, scrum-half Lucus Welch and lock Kristian Parker were the try scorers for the Sardis Road side.
Seventh-placed Keys will now try to finish the season strongly, with the fixture list throwing up a swift reunion with Ponty at Pandy Park on Saturday.
The other two finals were tight and dramatic with Llanelli Wanderers edging out Tondu 35-32 in the Championship Cup while Caernarfon lifted the Division One Cup after they scored a late converted try for a 30-29 win against Bridgend Athletic, who missed a drop goal with the last kick.
