Chepstow Boxing Club should have had two members - Peter Mullane and Scott Marchant - boxing on Friday night at the Pontyclun show, but as head coach Steve Woods explained, the planned bouts didn’t take place.
“Peter’s opponent came in way too heavy, so that bout was off,” Woods said.
“Scott’s opponent failed to pass the doctor’s medical, so that one was off as well.
“Peter did an exhibition bout with another boxer just to help the show out, but we have nothing planned now.
“I’ll be looking to give the team a rest over Christmas, then start looking to match them as soon as possible in the New Year.”
