A Tredegar teenager has been crowned national champion in the Schools Championship FSA 44-46kg.
Ava Jones, 13, won the national title last weekend, making her a two-time Welsh vest winner.
The Maerdy ABC boxer has also been selected by Boxing Wales to represent her country in Scotland for the British championships in June.
She started boxing at the age of nine, alongside swimming, but chose to commit fully to boxing because of her love for the sport.
Ava trains up to five days a week and follows a strict diet leading up to competitions.
She won her first national Welsh vest at the age of 12 and secured her second at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, this year.
Ava, a student at Tredegar Comprehensive School and former pupil of Bryn Bach Primary, said she 'would love to secure place on Team Wales' and travel fighting for her country.
Her dedication to the sport and her achievements at such a young age make her a promising talent in the boxing world.
The teenager now has her sights set on the British championships.
