The four Caerphilly borough-based Premiership teams have found out who they will face in the first round of the Premiership Cup.

The fixtures, set for Saturday, October 3, will see Bedwas, Bargoed, Newbridge and Cross Keys all compete.

Bedwas will face Llangennech at home, while Bargoed will travel to take on Bonymaen.

Newbridge will travel to Llanelli Wanderers, and Cross Keys will head on down to face Pontypridd.

The competing teams will be hoping to improve on their 2025-26 performances.

In last season's competition, Cross Keys lost away to Cardiff Met 26-22, and Newbridge narrowly lost 25-24 away to Ystrad Rhondda. Both fixtures were in the first round.

Bargoed reached the semi-final, but lost 19-16 to Merthyr.

Cup holders Neath, along with Beddau and Narberth, have been given a bye in the first round.

The winners of the inaugural WRU Challenge Cup in 1972, Neath, triumphed over Merthyr at the Principality Stadium earlier this year, in what was their 14th final appearance.

It was the first time they had won the cup at this level since 2009.

Newly promoted Bedwas and Bonymaen, who both have home ties, will be looking to make an impact in their step up to the top tier of the community game.

Bedwas completed the double last season by winning the Championship Cup and the Championship East crown.
