Goytre and Blaenavon Blues were forced to share the spoils after their Ardal South East derby finished in a goalless draw under the Plough Road floodlights.
Blaenavon Blues goalkeeper Adam Rafter atoned for dropping a sixth minute cross by making a save from Josh Gibson prior to denying Lewis Iles two minutes later from a 25 yard drive.
Gibson went close in the 12th minute with a speculative half volley from nearly 35 yards before it was the turn of Goytre custodian Cohen Riella to come off his line and deny Nathan Watts as he broke into the penalty area.
Iles's 21st minute effort from the edge of the penalty area was saved prior to Gibson directing an effort wide of the far post from a tight angle less than 60 seconds later.
Frazer Probert snatched at his 25 yard shot in the 24th minute before Kai Burton drove forward two minutes later but could only direct his strike straight into the hands of Riella.
The host's goalkeeper denied Probert six minutes before the interval, and Burton directed the rebound wide of goal.
The Blues ended the opening half strongly, as Probert's effort from the edge of the penalty area was blocked in the 44th minute, but the teams headed back to the changing rooms on level terms.
Lewis McCauley's 53rd minute effort from the edge of the penalty area was blocked before William Priest struck a 30 yard effort straight at Riella less than 60 seconds later.

Watts was denied from the edge of the penalty area after an 88th minute free-kick was only partially cleared.
Goytre continued to push for the elusive winning goal in the closing stages.
Jack Pewtner struck an effort wide of the target less than 60 seconds later, following a swift counter-attack by the hosts, before Iles had an effort saved in the fifth minute of stoppage-time.
Goytre remain unbeaten after three league matches and stand in fifth position after their opening three league fixtures.
Blaenavon Blues extended their unbeaten run to four matches in all competitions.
