ANOTHER New Zealander is joining Newport Gwent Dragons on Monday - prop Nigel Hall, from Otago, signing a two-and-a-half year contract, writes Robin Davey.

He has been playing for English First Division club Nottingham.

Hall, who is 6ft 2ins tall and weighs18st, about the same size as Wales prop Gethin Jenkins, has played for a New Zealand Divisional XV and Canterbury B, but has spent the last four years with Nottingham.

He recently turned down the chance of joining top Guinness Premiership team Harlequins and he is getting married to a Nottingham girl, which will mean he has a British passport and is not classed as an overseas player.

He recently completed 100 appearances for the East Midlands team and has scored 15 tries for them, a good return for a prop.

Hall plays his last game for Nottingham against Plymouth today and reports for training with the Dragons on Monday.

He can play either side of the scrum, but is likely to be utilised at loose head initially where the Dragons are short of cover for Adam Black, deputy Hugh Gustafson out for the season with back trouble.
