I HAVE a feeling that it is going to be a positive end to the season for both the Wasps and the Hornets in their various campaign.

Whereas the senior team has come good since mid-July, the National League Hornets have been firing on all cylinders all season and are getting results in all competitions at that level.

They are at the correct end of the table, they have overcome some good teams already in the Knock Out Cup competition and have begun well in their National Trophy fixtures.

One rider deserving of mention in a good Hornets team is Mark Jones. He came over from Australia without any hype and settled well.

As far as the club is concerned he is a hassle-free rider to deal with and he gets on with everybody in the respective teams.

Mark has rarely had an off-meeting and consistency is his hallmark. In my opinion he is worth considering for a place in the Wasps line-up for 2011.

He has laid a good foundation in his first season that's for sure.

Meanwhile Todd Kurtz has made it to number one in this very good side and that was his ambition from day one. Next year he can concentrate on his Premier League racing with added confidence.

It is good that he has had the chance to ride for both the Wasps and the Hornets and this has kept him busy on his bike.

You have to feel a little for Alex Davies who gets less outings as he only rides for the Wasps and doesn't ride abroad as our Swedes do.

Talking of the Swedes, Robin Aspegren came into the Wasps set up late and was given the tough number five spot in the line-up. He has coped well and he is also a great guy to get on with and so has blended well with his new team-mates.

Tomorrow afternoon the Wasps have the Sheffield Tigers at Queensway Meadows. We pushed them close on their own track in late July and will be up for the challenge of winning at home against a decent team.

A top ten place is still on the agenda and we are keen to achieve that.
