NIGERIAN international striker Ade Akinbiyi will not be joining Newport County after manager Dean Holdsworth pulled out of the deal at the last minute.
The Exiles boss, who saw his side lose 2-1 at Southport today, will look at other targets after deciding the ex-Premier League forward was not the man to help cement a place in the Blue Square Bet Premier League play-offs.
"We just felt that he didn't tick all of the boxes and at this moment it wasn't right to bring him to the club," said Holdsworth.
"We'll look elsewhere and hope to bring in someone else because we only had 16 players available today."
