VALLEYS Gymnastics Academy members achieved outstanding results at this year's South Central competitions held at the Academy in Crumlin.

The boys were competing in their Novice Championships.

Competing in the 9/10 years event the team of Callum Evans, Noah Bennet and McKenzie Morris were crowned team champions.

Individually McKenzie picked up 5th overall while Callum was 3rd and Noah was overall champion.

The boys also picked up a number of apparatus awards, including a clean sweep of the medals on the floor and 3 more golds and a silver for Noah. In the 11+ category Barney Jones took 6th overall whileJosh Oliver was champion. Again, both boys picked up a range of apparatus ribbons and medals.

Meanwhile, the girls were competing in the South Central Levels and Challenge Cup.

At Level 6, the team of Orlaith King took 4th overall, Amy Leigh Reed took 3rd and Madison Harford was 2nd. Again, the girls collected a heap of apparatus awards, including gold for Madison on ben and gold for Amy Leigh on bars.

At level 3 Ellie Davies was outstanding and took gold overall as well as on each of the 4 apparatus. In the Challenge Cup event Katelyn King was champion at 10/11 (overall and on 4 apparatus), whilst Niya Hewitt was champion at 12/13, closely followed by Naomi Jarman.

Niya was also champion on bars, vault and floor and Naomi was champion on beam, 2nd on bars and 3rd on floor and vault.

The gymnasts are all based at the Academy in Crumlin.
