FORMER Newport County AFC defender David Pipe has landed roles with the Parry Junior Soccer School (PJSS), run by former Wales international Paul Parry, and the Celtic South Wales Development Centre, run by ex-County man Darren Jones.
Pipe brought his 18-year professional career to an end after last month’s League Two play-off final defeat to Tranmere Rovers at Wembley
The 35-year-old opted to hang up his boots to move into fitness coaching having set up the Carbon Fiit Gym, which is based at the Newport Indoor Football Centre on Usk Way, last year.
And he’s now been appointed as strength and conditioning coach at PJSS, which is also based at the Newport Indoor Football Centre, for the 2019-2020 Junior Premier League campaign.
Pipe will also be working with local kids at the Celtic South Wales Development Centre, which has been set up by Jones after he sold his share in PJSS.
The centre is Wales’ only official international partner of the Celtic Soccer Academy. Visit celticsouthwales.co.uk for more details.
