WALES have been dealt another World Cup injury blow after full-back Liam Williams was ruled out of Sunday’s semi-final against South Africa.
The Lions star suffered an ankle injury in training on Wednesday and is not only out of the last-four clash against the Springboks but is also unlikely to feature the following weekend, be it in the final or third place play-off.
Wales do at least have a high-quality deputy in Leigh Halfpenny but it is another blow for Warren Gatland, who has already lost Cory Hill and Josh Navidi from his squad while Taulupe Faletau and Gareth Anscombe were ruled out of the tournament after suffering summer injuries.
The team to face the Springboks will be announced at 3.30am.
