Situated right at the heart of Usk Garden centre you’ll find the lovely Morris’s Café and Restaurant.
Housed in a bright and airy conservatory, which extends out on to a lovely patio, this lovely cafe serves food right throughout the day, from breakfast and brunch to lunch and afternoon tea.
We headed along to enjoy a tasty afternoon tea on a blazing hot Saturday afternoon. Served from noon until 4pm every day, the afternoon tea is a delicious treat.
Seated in the lovely shabby-chic restaurant, our afternoon tea was served to us in the prettiest vintage-style china.
We were served with a selection of sandwiches and cakes. The sandwiches were made using luxurious thick, fresh bread. They were filled with smoked salmon and cheese and were lovely - really tasty and just right.
On the cake stand was a selection of super-sweet treats, including cream-filled meringues topped with fresh strawberries, the richest chocolate brownies I’ve ever tried, fresh Viennese biscuits filled with cream and dipped in chocolate and, of course, fresh scones with cream and jam.

All of it was lovely and really enjoyable and incredibly fresh thanks to the fact that the café has it’s very own patisserie chef. Accompanied with a pot of fresh tea, it was a real treat!
Morris’s Café and Restaurant is a lovely place to eat. Opens even days a week and serving breakfast until 11.45am, the daily specials board features a new range of main courses every day.      There’s also a fantastic value-for-money children’s menu which has a great selection to choose from.
