An exciting programme of events runs throughout the year for all ages and interests at Llancaiach Fawr including historical re-enactments, children’s activity days and exciting family days out.

Up and coming events include free entry to a CJ Wedding fair on October 8, Ghost Tours every Friday and Saturday evening from October to March (including an extra special tour on Tuesday 31), Hallowe’en Crafts and Disco for children with fun and games all day on Tuesday, October 31 (a small entry fee applies per child), Witch Trials from Tuesday, October 31 until Friday, November 3 (based on 17th century court cases, where you can vote on the verdicts!), and on Friday, November 3 Hallowe’en story telling for grown-ups (not a ghost tour).

All visitors are invited to step back in time to 1645AD and are welcomed into the manor by the costumed servants who are busily preparing the house for the day.

Once families have finished the tour and learned all about its colourful history, they can then find out lots more at the visitor centre, which also offers a gift shop stocking a wide range of gifts, books and jewellery.

If you’re feeling peckish after the tour, you can take a well-deserved break at its licensed coffee lounge and conservatory restaurant.

The café and restaurant is open daily from 10am until 4pm Tuesday to Sunday, with hot lunches served from noon until 2.30pm. The café and
restaurant is open to the public and not just for visitors of the manor house, so you can pop in anytime to enjoy a tasty bite to eat.

Light snacks and lunches feature on the menu, offering such culinary delights as freshly battered cod, homemade lasagne, curry of the day, as well as an all-day breakfast, all of which are made from the finest locally sourced and fresh Welsh produce.

Sunday lunch is a firm favourite at Llancaiach Fawr, where booking in advance is highly recommended – call now to reserve a table.
