David Mahoney Productions and Wales Millennium Centre will host an unforgettable evening for music lovers on Tuesday, March 3. Heart and Soul: a Motown, RnB and Soul Celebration will be a uplifting and glamorous party at the glitzy Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay, with a knock-out line-up of local, West End and Broadway talent performing hits by legends including Al Green, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Tina Turner, Earth, Wind & Fire, John Legend and many more.
The all-star performers include Trevor Dion Nicholas (the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin, and judge on ITV’s All-Star Musicals), Marisha Wallace (star of Dreamgirls, Hairspray and Waitress the Musical), Shanay Holmes (who recently performed in Rent and Jesus Christ Superstar) and Dom Hartley-Harris (whose impressive CV includes Tiger Bay the Musical at the Centre, and Hamilton).
Accompanying them will be the Cardiff-based Novello Orchestra; renowned for their stylish, sophisticated take on well-known musical showstoppers as well as more contemporary music.
And leading the whole evening’s entertainment will be the orchestra’s suave conductor, founder and musical director David Mahoney; no stranger to show business, he’s performed throughout the UK and America with Classical Brit Award winning group Only Men Aloud.
Audiences will feel compelled to sing along with the evening’s hit list of songs from across the decades, including old favourites (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher, September, I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Respect.
