Hatti of Newport has been the number one restaurant on trip advisor for more than five years. This spectacular venue opened its doors in the autumn of 2014 and was formerly known as the Chandlery – yet another high-ranking dining destination.

The reason why this Indian restaurant  has been number one for so long is due to it’s dedicated team of hard-working and very accommodating staff, which is led by manager Mohammed Abdul Azid or ‘Zee’ if you’re a regular to this fine establishment.

For Zee and his team, nothing is too much trouble – they will do everything in their power to make your visit a pleasurable one – making people happy is what makes them happy, and we must say, they are very good at doing it. If you do not believe us, simply take a look at the hundreds of 5-Star ratings Hatti has received over the years on social media.

If you’re new to Hatti (which simply means elephant in English), Zee and his team can easily recommend dishes to suit your tastes and dietary needs from its extensive menu, which are expertly made by head chef Kazi Jehangir Ahmed and his team of passionate cooks.

Head chef Kazi and Manager Zee have been recognised by the BCA (British Curry Awards) for all their hard work, with Kazi winning Chef of the Year two years running and Zee and his team winning Restaurant of the Year for their exceptional customer service and hospitality.

On the Hatti menu, you will find a wide variety of traditional Indian dishes and some that you may have never seen before. Dishes are always prepared from fresh ingredients and spices by their multi award-winning chef, Kazi. All food is made to order using the finest locally sourced ingredients, with specialist items being shipped in directly from India.

Kazi has more than thirty years’ experience in this unique style of home-style Indian cooking and will prepare you a meal to ignite your taste buds with his flavoursome signature dishes and house specialities.

Manager Zee recommends that you try the Garlic Bahaar – an award-winning dish that was especially made to impress the judges from the British Curry Awards. Other highly recommended dishes from Zee on the menu include a Tandoori Mixed Grill, a Chicken Shashlik and an Apna Nihari.

As all dishes are made fresh from scratch, they can be adapted to suit your dietary needs and requirements – if you suffer from any allergies, simply let Zee and his team know and they will find you an alternative – Zee has gone above and beyond many times for his legion of loyal customers, which is why they love him so.

Zee told Voice “We love to treat our customers like family – Hatti is a place where they can come to relax and enjoy high-quality Indian cuisine.

“Although Hatti has the look of a fine dining establishment, ultimately you feel as though you’re visiting a family relative for a home-cooked meal.

“We are very glad that people enjoy our food and welcoming atmosphere, and it has humbled us how much support we've recieved from our customers by continuing to use us as a takeaway during the past few months. My staff and I look forward to welcoming our wonderful customers back through our doors, hopefully very soon!”
