KNUTSFORD people headed to Booths Park in their thousands on Sunday to enjoy the summer sunshine and a family fun day.

The event raised funds for The Children’s Burns Foundation, and organisers told the Guardian more than £5,500 was raised on the day.

The event included food and children’s fairground rides.

It was staged in the grounds of Booths Park House and along with market stalls and local dance club displays there was a dog show, face painters, barbecue and fire engines.

Matthew Townsend, a trustee of the CBF and chief executive of Ultimate Creative Communications, whose grounds the fun day was held in, said it was great to bring a village feel back to Knutsford.

“It was an absolutely great success, and we were overwhelmed with the turnout,” he said.

“We had more than 2,500 people through the door and it was supported by a lot of town businesses, including Aldi who provided all the food for the barbecue – and even the chef – and the beer was supplied by Mobberley Ales.

“We had an artisan market which was really successful.

“It was just a great day, and a big thankyou to the community.”
