MOUNT Vale Care Home in Northallerton is taking part in the first ever National Care Home Open day on Friday (June 21).
The idea is to encourage residents to visit care homes in their neighbourhood and work together to develop better relationships.
The open day will take place from 10.30am to 4pm, including a celebration of the Summer Solstice with a coffee and scone morning.
In the afternoon there will be music and entertainment with Pimms and cupcakes on the lawn.
Liz Corser, General Manager said: "Some people still have misconceptions about care homes so we are keen to dispel any myths that are out there and for people to come and have a look around."
